Eastern Shore Migrant Workers. Did You Know?On the Eastern Shore of Virginia, migrant workers, many coming from Mexico through the H-2A visa program, are crucial to the agricultural industry. Approximately 1,500 migrant agricultural workers reside in over twelve camps from March through October, when they primarily pick tomatoes, potatoes, and other produce. The work is incredibly hard, demanding high productivity often in grueling conditions.
